Luxury hospitality dining in Shanghai often leans toward either theatrical opulence or sterile minimalism. Artyzen needed a food and beverage identity that felt fully integrated with Neri & Hu's architectural vision—yet distinct enough to draw local connoisseurs beyond the hotel lobby.
The challenge was to craft a brand that balanced serene elegance with social energy, cultural rootedness with global fluency — particularly for discerning guests seeking discovery over display in a design-forward urban escape.
We created Shanghai Modern as a cohesive brand ecosystem spanning Restaurant, Lounge, and Tapas Bar — unified by a visual language of "A Destination Of Taste" A subtle typographic pairing, a palette drawn from natural materials and Shanghai's muted light, and flexible graphic motifs inspired by performing arts rhythms anchor the concept in place without literal reference.
Every touchpoint—from menu architecture to wayfinding to digital storytelling—was designed to feel discovered, not announced. The system mirrors the hotel's spatial flow: calm in the details, dynamic in the experience, always letting architecture and culinary craft take center stage.
