Kollektiv transformed the historic Banov House into Wuhan’s premier upscale dining destination. Christened “Le Marchand” to honour the building’s heritage as home to a renowned merchant, our challenge was creating an authentic yet accessible Western bistro concept in an underserved market.
Our research-driven approach explored classical bistro elements, reimagined through a contemporary lens appropriate for Wuhan’s evolving culinary landscape. The resulting concept harmonises with the heritage architecture while introducing sophisticated dining codes new to the region.
The comprehensive brand identity encompasses naming, logo design, interior concept and all customer touch points—creating a cohesive experience that honours bistro traditions whilst feeling fresh and relevant. Le Marchand now stands as a landmark dining destination, elevating Wuhan’s gastronomic scene.
